Our locum doctors in Dubbo kindly share with you their experience. WHAT IS THE TEAM LIKE? Wow, what a place! I must say Dubbo Base Hospital did not immediately rate as one of my favourites. But, there certainly is some excitement and potential here. Dubbo has a reasonably new director in their ED. He is switched on, motivated and has a very loyal following. Therefore, I am sure some great things are to come from this regional hospital. Settled in easily, staff are welcoming, the majority are local permanent/part-time staff with some seconded medical officers. They know the system well and help new locums. Great referral culture, FACEMs are supportive too.

WHAT IS THE TEAM LIKE? The whole ED team at Coffs Harbour Base Hospital was super friendly and welcoming and they arrange to do brunches/dinner every week. The consultants are very approachable and helpful with patient care.

Our locum doctor in Moruya gives you tips and insights. WHAT IS THE TEAM LIKE? It is a small department, in Moruya Hospital NSW, with a busy emergency load. Most of the time you are alone with some FACEMs cover with some overlapping shifts but otherwise, it is solo ED.

By our Locum doctor in Kempsey: Dr Lakshmi. WHAT IS THE TEAM LIKE? The ED (Emergency Department) staff are excellent friendly folks in Kempsey Hospital. They are very used to locums being around and they treat you well. Overall it is a great team environment. You are made to feel welcome pretty quickly and it’s easy to settle in. There are plenty of teaching and opportunities to learn when time permits. The workload tends to be lighter than Port Macquarie around the corner, with a good patient mix and lots of interesting pathologies floating around.
